THE ENDLESS WAVE | PART ONE
In September of 2014,, we hosted a huge party in honor of Willi at Blue Moun- tain Ski Resort. Besides snowboarding, Willi was an avid skier and he actually has a run named for him at the resort. Hundreds of friends and family paid heartfelt tributes to Willi. The stories that were shared were truly special. We hired a Beatles cover band that brought down the house. It was truly an epic event. I can honestly say that it was a privilege just to be there and help plan it.
If you ever find yourself in the position of creating a tribute to someone who has died or you can assist with a celebration of life ceremony, I strongly en- courage you to take part. It’s been almost seven years since this event. While it was indeed bittersweet, I am so glad I was a part of it.
Fast forward to 2023. I am now older than the age that Willi passed. It is stag- gering to think how much he accomplished in his brief time on this planet. He definitely needs to be part of the Skateboarding Hall of Fame.
