the outside at an extrinsic level, however on an intrinsic level, the experience is very similar.
The different religions and styles of skateboarding could be likened to differ- ent species of trees. They are the same at their core but different in other ways. It could be said that without different representations through different species, how could there be growth or evolution on a bigger picture scale? The diversity in religion represents diversifying understanding of the world, often intertwined and growing out of the world’s cultures, locations and experi- ences, while diversity in skateboarding represents a way of adaptation and growth in response to developments in hardware, experimenting with new terrain and pushing the boundaries in different environments.
Asking whether one is right or wrong is not the question, but more so, the ques- tion to ask is whether this one is right for you? Each has its own collective which underpins and influences its devotees, which leads them to connections to their own individualized expression. These expressions can then be likened to the sounds of musical notes singing their praises to the highest expression of love and creation. In religion, these musical notes are praises to the song of the Divine, via whichever path one chooses to explore this through. In skate- boarding, the different styles are songs of praise to the spirit of skateboarding and a homage to the skateboarders of the past, present and future.
