The Third-Eye of Skateboarders
Typically, everyone has two physical Eyes that they can use to view the world in its physical form. Basically, the eyes function by receiving light, which sends a message to the brain and translates it into an image for us to see. We see the world around us that is made of dense matter, the things that we can see and touch with our Hands and interact with. There are things that we cannot see with our Eyes, such as electricity, oxygen, sound waves and thought forms yet we acknowledge their presence because of the impact and relevance that they have in our daily lives.
What some of us may have learnt through the worldwide increase in avail- ability and exposure to eastern practices such as Chinese Medicine, Reiki, Yoga, is that we also have a Third-Eye for viewing the world beyond its phys- ical form. The third-eye is a part of our spiritual anatomy and it is located on our forehead, in the space between our eyebrows. Physiologically this is known as the Pineal Gland, (which is responsible for bodily functions such as hormone production, growth and production of melatonin, which regu- lates sleep levels) and the name ‘Third-Eye’ comes from its location and func- tions based on sensitivity to light.
The Third-Eye can allow us to see things such as energy, colored lights, dreams with clarity and visions of the past, present and future. The Third-Eye is typi- cally developed through meditation and different forms of energy healing.
