THE ENDLESS WAVE | PART ONE
From Woo Woo To Wow
My father was raised in quite a religious environment, but towards the end of his life, he moved into the atheist camp. He was a man of med- icine and science. While I seem to recall his mother having an incli- nation towards spirituality, I can affirm that he never showed any remote interest in front of me.
My spiritual journey didn’t start until December of 2010. Before that time, I would say I wasn’t very spiritual. I enjoyed the social aspect of the religion I was born into, but I was pretty comfortable being very non-observant. Over the past decade or so, there are things that I have experienced that I’d classify as odd or supernatural. So while I am not a big believer in the man or woman upstairs, I am entirely open to the fact that there might be more to this world than what meets the eye. This journey has not been an easy one. When you are hit with a spiritual awakening, it can stress your marriage and your rela- tionships with other family and friends.
I am deeply conflicted when I see stuff online (ie woo woo) that just reeks of being a scam. While prayer can be a huge part of dealing with death and dying, it makes me sick to see people “praying away coronavirus.” At the same time, I have personally experienced some excellent meditation sessions via You- Tube videos.
