THE ENDLESS WAVE | PART ONE
been married for decades, but I suspect they haven’t really been on the same page for a long time.
I knew a man who spent over 35 working hard building a business. After dec- ades of struggle, he finally became financially successful, and in his mid-50’s he decided to retire. He and his wife bought a beautiful new house. They started to travel, and life was going exceptionally well. Unfortunately, less than two years after his decision to retire, he had liver cancer and passed at the age of 57.
But this is not the entire story. The sad truth is that in the decades he’d worked, he sacrificed much time with his family. The relationship with his son and daughter was not very healthy. Don’t take my word for it; look at the top bucket list items from USA Today.
Look what is in the number one position. That’s what happens when you in- vest time in family and friends.
